Oracle Easy ERP
About the project
Oracle ERP solutions goal was introducing a new and “cheep” version of the big ERP portal that will applat for the SME market.
To apply to the SME market Oracle needed to improve the GUI in some aspects and to present a new marketing layer for the portal.
Puzzlehead joined Oracle’s ERP product team to define design and to develop the new Oracle Easy interface. Our goal was to create a modern design and user friendly home page which emphasizes both the easy quality of the application, together with its process oriented structure.
As specified by the customer the home page should hold an index of links to demos and tutorials, to display some of the embedded BI tools and to display some commercial materials.
UI Concept
We tried to find a solution for the "dry" technical index of demos and tutorials and came out with the idea of a player. An easy to use, intuitive tool that can hold a modern and friendly design and to give indication on the behavior of the components in the list. Based on this we sketched some schematics trying to find a concept of layouts and navigation methods that will hold the components as specified and will give the user an enjoyable and intuitive experience while entering the page and while navigating the index.
Refine concept and detailed design
The second concept was chosen. This concept shows the business process as a cycle.
Selecting a certain element in the cycle displays list of relevant demos and tutorials and the relevant BI tools examples. Next step is refining the concept, searching for the best layout with the best proportions between the components, going deeper into details and design and trying to achieve the desirable experience for the user. We came out with 2 options that were shown to the customer. The second option with 3D like carousel was chosen and continued to the graphic design stage in our studio.
Graphic design
We developed few design options for Oracle to choose from and based on the chosen version we designed the rest of the screens.
Development
The Puzzlehead’s R&D team developed the client side for the Easy ERP and supplied Oracle with a working client for implementation.
